Jack White Fires Back
Jack White isn't letting estranged wife Karen Elson's claims in their ongoing custody battle go uncontested. In a motion filed by his lawyer today in Davidson County Circuit Court in Nashville and obtained by Rolling Stone, the singer-guitarist directly responds to claims made by Elson in a restraining order against him last week, as well as her motion that he submit to a psychiatric exam.
Elson, who split with White in 2011, has alleged that he harassed her and is an unfit father for their two children. White's countermotion strongly objects to that characterization. "The reason for filing this response is that Mr. White does not want to be portrayed as something he is not, violent toward his wife and children," the countermotion reads.
The filing cites a series of emails from Elson to White in which she praises his parenting abilities. "You're an amazing father, I'm so glad we had these kids together," Elson wrote in an email to White dated May 19th, 2013. White's attorney, Cathy Speers Johnson, calls Elson's motion for a psychiatric exam "inflammatory . . . . disingenuous, fraudulent and retaliatory and simply designed to malign him in the public record or to gain an upper hand in this litigation."
In response to claims by Elson that she fears White, the countermotion states that Elson left their children in his care the day after signing her restraining order affidavit, while she took a 10-day "work/pleasure trip" to New York. The following day, she filed her motion requesting a psychiatric exam. "One who was truly fearful of another would not leave their children alone with that person for 10 days," White's response says. "The truth of the matter is that Ms. Elson is not fearful for herself or the parties' minor children."
White claims that Elson professed her love for him as recently as last month, telling their mutual friend Dean Fertita, "I'm completely in love with Jack and I'd move back in tomorrow if he asked me." (Fertita, White's bandmate in the Dead Weather, also plays in Queens of the Stone Age.) "This is not the statement of a woman who is concerned about the emotional stability of the father of their children or their safety when they are with him," the motion states.
The current rift between White and Elson – who had previously co-parented their children amicably, despite ongoing divorce proceedings – appears to stem in part from a European trip that Elson took with the children in June, during which she kept them overseas for 10 days longer than White had previously given written consent.

Karen Elson Gets Restraining Order
Restrained: Jack White, whose ex-wife Karen Elson got a restraining order against the rock star, who she claims has harassed her amid a custody dispute. This comes two years after a split so seemingly amicable they threw a party together to commemorate it. Sounds like the trajectory of so many suburban divorces we know, except for the showbizzy details: Nashville City Paper reports that the model/singer alleges the White Stripes front man bullied her over dealings with two other musicians (sadly unnamed) whom he claims “ripped off” his music – in one case, pressuring her to yank their kids out of a class where one rival’s child was enrolled (Update: the guy from the Black Keys, it turns out); in another, berating her for attending the performer’s wedding. They’ll have another hearing at the end of August.

New AFI Album
East Bay punk-goth act AFI. broke their website an hour or so ago with a new video, which implies that the band will release a new album in September.
In addition to the video, AFI’s Facebook page received a new photo scheme, which in today’s music climate is equivalent to “hey guys, we’re back! Pay attention!”
AFI’s last album was 2009′s 3-star affair Crash Love, but judging by the general feel of the teaser video above we can’t help but think this new stuff might go back to the band’s old days. Hell, they even call themselves “A Fire Inside” once again, which should send shock waves of excitement among the Gilman St. crowd in the Berkeley punk scene.
Here’s the clip in question click here

Possible Gaskarth and Fuentes Collaboration?
Alex Gaskarth and Vic Fuentes have discussed in a new interview with AltPress about a possibility of live collaboration of All Time Low's "Remembering Sunday".
An excerpt from the interview can be found by clicking read more.
Both bands are currently touring across the country on the Spring Fever tour alongside Mayday Parade and You Me At Six. All dates and ticket information can be found here.
We dug up a fan “petition” with 3,000-plus notes on Tumblr for All Time Low to play “Remembering Sunday” and have Vic do the female vocal parts. Would you consider that?
GASKARTH: Holy crap! I haven’t even seen that. That’s nuts. Maybe we could add that song in. Yeah, that’s crazy. It’s definitely something we’d consider. There’s a place for it in the set, so it could happen, for sure.
FUENTES: Oh, my God… Yeah, maybe. I think it would be cool to do a little collaborating onstage. Actually, I sing with Mayday Parade already on their Punk Goes Pop cover of “Somebody That I Used To Know,” and I’m all about doing stuff like that. So, you never know. Maybe somewhere during the tour, we’ll work it out

City And Colour : The Hurry And The Harm
You can check out the album artwork as well as a statement from frontman Dallas Green bellow
"Good Morning!
Today is album announce day and i finally get to share all the fun stuff.
I am excited to introduce all of you to my upcoming album - The Hurry and The Harm.
June 4th is the official release date around the world (May 31 in Australia & Germany and June 1 in every other European country). The iTunes pre-order will begin April 9 and will include an option for a deluxe version that includes 3 extra songs. (More info & links coming soon)
The support you all showed, for the first song I shared two weeks ago, "of space and time", was overwhelming. Thank you!!! it means the world to me.
I had an amazing time recording The Hurry and The Harm in Nashville this winter. Alex Newport joined me as producer again and I couldn't be prouder of the talented group of guys that joined me. Jack Lawrence played bass (and has since joined me on the road), Matt Chamberlain and James Gadson took turns on drums, Bo Koster worked the keys, Spencer Cullum Jr added pedal steel and both Anthony Lamarchina & Karen Winkelmann contributed to the string arrangement.
I never thought I'd want a picture of myself on the cover of a record, but here we are. I sent Dustin Rabin one of my favorite lyrics on the record and the album artwork was born:
"I've always been dark, with light somewhere in the distance"
Over the next few weeks more info will continue to follow. For now, I'm very excited to share this with everyone and grateful for all the years we've shared that led to this record."

Blink 182 Tour Australia Without Travis Barker
Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker will not be joining the band to play their Australian tour, which kicks off in a few days. Barker cites his fear of flying as the reason for his absence. As a result,
Bad Religion drummer Brooks Wackerman will be filling in for the dates.
The band made a statement about the situation:
"The trip to Australia was planned during our European tour last summer. The band knew the chances of Travis overcoming his fear of flying, which was magnified after the horrible plane crash in 2008, would be a challenge, but we wanted to play for our fans in Australia nonetheless. The three of us tried all measures to get us all there in full form. Travis has been working to overcome his fear of flying. Since we now know we have to make the trip without Travis our friend Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) has stepped in. We love our fans in Australia so canceling was not an option so we still plan to come and play some kick ass shows. Mark, Tom, and Travis"
Barker also posted an update on his personal page:
"I'm sorry to announce i won't be joining Blink-182 on this Australian tour. I still haven't gotten over the horrific events that took place the last time i flew when my plane crashed and 4 people were killed, two being my best friends. I gave the band my blessing to take another drummer if they still wanted to do the tour without me. I hope to come to Australia again some day perhaps by ship if need be. Unfortunately, there wasn't a boat that worked with the schedule this time around. Once again I'm sorry to all the fans."
