Greenhornes to Work With Eric Burdon

Eric Burdon made a name for himself fronting the Animals in the ’60s and War in the ’70s, and now he’s back in the ’10s, sitting in with indie garage trio the Greenhornes. The Greenhornes, featuring frontman Craig Fox and Jack White‘s Raconteurs rhythm section of bassist Jack Lawrence and drummer Patrick Keeler, teamed up with Burdon to record the aptly titled EP ‘Eric Burdon and the Greenhornes,’ due to drop Nov. 23 on Record Store Day Black Friday. Check out their new tune ‘Black Dog’ by clicking below.
“I’m finding black dogs in the neighborhood that are kind to me, and I’m finding that I have no fear,” Burdon tells Rolling Stone of life after penning ‘Black Dog,’ which takes its name from former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s phrase “black dog of depression,” which he used to refer to periods of despair. “I’m putting my hands through fences and stroking these dogs. It’s amazing how music can make things happen like that.”
